Therapeutic programme
A three-stage programme to move beyond addiction and rebuild your life for the long term
Recovery from addiction involves more than simply “stopping”. It is a journey, often a long one, that requires a safe setting, a holistic approach and time to reconnect with yourself.
The Guépart programme is built on a belief: lasting change requires a profound emotional turning point, grounded in experience and supported over time.
Total duration: 4 to 5 months
Support team: doctors, psychologists, specialist support workers, art therapists…
An approach that complements standard addiction care
For people engaged in recovery, GUÉPART offers more than a journey: it offers an immersive, transformative experience.
Through deep cultural immersion and an innovative therapeutic approach, we offer a powerful catalyst for a fresh start, for participants and their families alike.
Why a structured programme?
Who is it for?
Adults receiving medical care for addiction
In a phase of stabilisation or remission
Selection based on medical criteria, motivation and physical ability
GUÉPART’s first programme cycle was delivered in partnership with the addiction service at Albert-Chenevier Hospital in Créteil (AP-HP).
The association aims to develop new cycles with other addiction services. Participation is prepared with each person and their care team, according to the arrangements agreed with each partner organisation.

The therapeutic journey away from everyday routines
Abroad –
15 days of deep cultural immersion in another country (e.g. Mongolia, Nepal)
This journey is designed as a powerful way to help participants gain perspective and reflect on their personal journey.
A unique setting to:
Reconnect with yourself away from familiar triggers
Experience full immersion in a radically different cultural environment
Share a powerful human experience in a small group
Create profound emotional and sensory change
All supported by:
Healthcare professionals
The Guépart team
Guides experienced in extreme environments
This is neither a tourist trip nor a retreat.
It is a transformative experience.
3
Post-trip therapeutic workshops
In France –
1 full workshop day per week. A total of 7 to 8 days spread over 2 months + support groups
In a day hospital, in person, within the partner addiction service, led by healthcare professionals.
Objective: consolidate the changes and support a return to social and working life where needed, and help sustain abstinence over time.
Areas of focus:
Integrate what was learned during the journey
Work on plans for the future (social, working and family life)
Strengthen confidence and emotional regulation
Prevent relapse
Post-trip sharing evening:
Presentation of the therapeutic journey
A screening of photos and videos, creating an opportunity to share, recognise one another’s experiences and rebuild connections between participants, family and friends, and care professionals.
Ongoing support groups are offered to maintain connections,
develop peer support as former participants gradually become involved,
and strengthen the group’s shared momentum.
Destinations…
A GUÉPART experience for a fresh start

Carefully selected destinations, including Mongolia, Nepal, Peru and Kenya, offer distinctive experiences: discovering rich, diverse cultures while taking an active part in your recovery.
Expert support for recovery
A unique partnership between healthcare professionals and the Guépart team
Guépart’s therapeutic journeys are more than trips abroad. They operate within a rigorous medical framework, built on a close partnership with addiction specialists, to ensure safe, compassionate care tailored to every participant.
A multidisciplinary team by your side
Each cycle is supported by:
A doctor specialising in addiction medicine, present throughout the programme, including during the journey. They oversee medical safety, personalised follow-up, and adapt care where needed.
A psychologist specialising in addiction, who:
supports the preparatory workshops,
oversees post-trip follow-up,
and ensures consistency across the therapeutic programme.
A specialist support worker, to build trust, support group dynamics and encourage independence.
An experienced member of the Guépart team, responsible for smooth logistics and keeping the project centred on people.

A collaborative, safety-focused selection process
Before each cycle, care professionals take an active role in selecting participants.
Their role is to
assess each applicant’s physical and emotional capacity and motivation, to ensure the programme is appropriate and safe for them.

Guépart: unique expertise in therapeutic immersion
Alongside managing logistics, the association Guépart brings a deep understanding of the challenges of addiction, particularly alcohol addiction. Its founder, a former patient, designs every stage to maximise the emotional impact and inner change.
Legal framework and registration
GUÉPART is registered as a travel and holiday operator with Atout France (IM094260001), in accordance with the French Tourism Code.
This official registration provides the legal framework for our therapeutic journeys and reflects our commitment to a safe, transparent and professional setting for participants and partners.
We also hold:
a financial guarantee provided by FMS-UNAT (Fonds de Mutualisation du Tourisme Solidaire),
and professional liability insurance with MAIF.
These arrangements support reliable organisation, protection for participants, and the long-term continuity of GUÉPART’s innovative therapeutic programme.

This integrated approach, combining medical rigour with human immersion, makes the Guépart programme a comprehensive, innovative and deeply transformative therapy.
A programme undergoing clinical evaluation
A qualitative study is being conducted with doctors and researchers to assess the impact:
On emotional regulation
On quality of life
On relapse prevention
On the role of family and friends
The results will help consolidate this model and extend it across France.
An approach that complements medical care
GUÉPART works closely with Mondor-Chenevier Hospital’s addiction service and other medical partners.
The programme does not replace standard care. It provides complementary support at an appropriate stage to improve the chances of sustained remission.
At Guépart, we believe in the power of therapy through travel. Our mission is to help people living with addiction move beyond it by discovering new cultures and reconnecting with themselves.
